French Revolution

I started being obsessed with the French Revolution in 1988 just before the time of the big bicentennary although I have always been interested in Marie Antoinette. One of my earliest memories involves dressing up and dancing about in the garden pretending to be Marie Antoinette at the Petit Trianon. I must have been about five as I hadn't started school at that point. I don't know what it is about the revolution that I find so enthralling but I admit to thinking that the highly charged mix of politics, personal alliances and vendettas, huge personalities and massive amounts of drama impossible to resist.

This sort of thing always helps though...
