I think my fascination with Marie Antoinette started when I was a child and has just grown and grown ever since until I am now on a fair way to being completely obsessed. I have pretty much every biography ever printed in English and some in French as well and am always keen to acquire more! Of course I think she was ridiculously spoilt and pampered but I sympathise as well and think that she has been unnecessarily maligned both in her own life time and subsequently. Of course really it all just comes down to the dresses...
