Writing

I like writing. I don't think I am very good at it but I enjoy it anyway because it is fun and quite cathartic and because I like words. Especially really long, complicated ones. The main thing though is that writing is just a hobby to me and it is exceedingly unlikely that I will ever even attempt publication because, well, I am shy and also because I think it takes a certain type of pushy arrogance to become a writer and I just don't have that. I am happy the way things are.

I used to think that I was a straight historical fiction writer but have discovered that I also really enjoy writing stuff with a more contemporary setting. They always have the same sorts of themes though because, after all, there is nothing new under the sun is there?
